AUDITION PROCESS

We specialize in preserving our history, proper terminology, comprehension, and developing techniques. We are also driven to teaching morals and values that come with this incredible authentic art form known as Urban Street Culture. The Learning Institute 4 the Urban Arts is the East Coast's 1st exclusive, urban-based training facility & Learning Institute that bases its curriculum on the foundation of hip hop: the "4 Elements of Hip Hop Culture."

The training program goal is to preserve the legacy of our urban art culture for future generations through "accurate, honest, and on hands insight through creative education. 

 

 OPEN CALL AUDITIONS:


To be considered please have professional headshot & resume available at Audition to be considered.

 

Must provide proper I.D. (If under 18yrs old please have a parent or legal guardian present at audition time or you will not be allowed to proceed)
Must have proper attire and know the particular piece you are auditioning for. You may be asked to stay and offer other talents you have listed on your resume & bio, so always come prepared.

No FREESTYLE please have choreographed piece prepared

Music & Choreography must NOT exceed 2-mins. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in disqualification.

AUDITION DATES ARE ANNUALLY: (SELECT ONE)

 

NO CALL NO SHOW (even with payment) will result in disqualification, NO EXCEPTIONS.

If you call management for an unforeseen emergency and are granted another audition date you MUST attend this date or you will be disqualified from scheduled and future auditions for the Learning Institute.

To ensure your acceptance into the prestigious Learning Institute 4 Urban Arts:

Prospective students MUST audition

$15 Audition fee (Mandatory & MUST be paid in advance by cash, debit or credit)

$25 WEEK/ DAY OF AUDITION PROCESS (CASH ONLY)

Auditionees should come prepared with the proper attire, music & preparation.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

All potential students that are not present in state or cannot attend in person should submit a video along with the $25 Evaluation Fee and Cover Letter with the following information required:

Name

City of origin

Age

Details of  your dance training & length of experience 

& Why you are a perfect candidate for Our Learning Institute

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS

No Longer than 3-Minutes

Hip Hop technique

Jazz Technique

Salsa Technique

Proper posture

Special skills 

 

VOCALIST SUBMISSIONS

1-minute acapella song that showcases your skill, range, and levels

 

ACTING SUBMISSIONS

Monologue showing your diversity in acting. Make sure the piece you chose reflects your acting ability.

Special skills or dance disciplines in your video reel you feel is relevant to your pre-screening process.

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

May 1st, 2022-2023

 

 

Selected students can look forward to opportunities for roles in live performances, promotional demonstrations, concerts, musicals, tours, theater, productions, plays/film, and television.

​

For Year-Round students, prior dance experience is not required.  

 

If accepted, a photo shoot is scheduled immediately after acceptance for your Learning Institute I.D. card.

TUITION:

LEARNING INSTITUTE 4 URBAN ARTS

MONTHLY TUITION: $650

 


Tuition is payable by cash, debit or credit card.

Must have valid I.D.  (if the student is a minor, parent or legal guardian must be present with valid I.D. and proof of employment. Passports accepted.)

Student Enrollment Class requirements:

BEGINNER STUDENTS 

10 CLASSES MINIMUM PER WEEK (NOT REQUIRED TO PERFORM IN MAIN SHOWCASES, PRODUCTIONS ETC)

​

SOPHOMORE STUDENTS 

12 CLASSES MINIMUM OER WEEK REQUIRED ON SHOW/DEMO PER SEMESTER

​

INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS 

15 CLASSES PER WEEK REQUIRED WILL PERFORM 5-8 TIMES PER YEAR


ADVANCE STUDENTS 

NO LESS THAN 15 CLASSES PER WEEK REQUIRED PERFORMANCE 8 - 12 TIMES PER YEAR

Non-Learning Institute Students 

Those who are interested in participating & learning, but cannot commit to our required guidelines/ process. You are required to take a minimum of 4 classes and a maximum of 8 classes per week.

​

TUITION $200 - $390

Each additional class is $45 extra per month


You may also audition for our upcoming productions as well as our musical theater presentations.

You MAY NOT audition for the dance company, institute, private casting calls, or auditions.

REQUIRED CLASSES 

- 2 Hip Hop 101 back to basics

- 1 Beginner Jazz, Rhythm & Technique 

- 1 Music Spacing & Theory Technique (Required Days per week) 


CLASS TIMES 

Weekdays: 4:30-5:45pm / 6pm-7:15pm / 7:30pm - 8:45pm
Saturdays: 10am-11:30am / Noon-1:30pm / 1:45pm - 3pm closed

 

Non-Institute Students: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
